Today in History in 1918  Armistice was signed by the Allies and Germany came into effect, WW I hostilities ended at 11 a.m.; in 1939 “God Bless America was sung by Kate Smith for the first time; and in 1885 U.S. General George S. Patton was born in San Gabriel, California.
