Release Your Potential

Marty Reep, Author
Speaker, Forward-Thinker

Some of you have potential bottled up inside of you that needs to come out.  You have ideas, dreams, and purposes that are not yet fulfilled and have not yet become a reality.  But, with persistence, patience, God’s help, and doors that will open – you will give birth to those visions.

Why will they come to be?  Because you were created to do them.  You were designed to make them happen.  You were intended from the beginning of time to be in this place, at this point, at this time.

One of the great things about failure is that you learn from your mistakes and from ways that didn’t work.  Failure is only permanent if you don’t get back up, again.  Believe me, you will fail more times than you succeed – but, that’s when sheer determination and grit kick in.  With determination and grit, you get up and try again.

Some of your greatest successes are still yet to come.  Some of your greatest ideas and visions are still yet to unfold in your lifetime.

Disappointment and setbacks are common and necessary parts of the process of succeeding.  Finding the way out of a maze involves bumping into walls, closed doors, and corners.  Working your way back from dead ends and fake shortcuts allows you to reflect on the path you’re on.  It also strengthens your resolve to find the way out and finish what you started.

Like a friend used to joke, “You know, despite the high cost of living, it’s still popular!”

I replied, “Yes, it is!  That’s kind of a weird way of looking at life, though.”

“True.  But you get the point,” he said.

“Yes.  Most definitely!”

It’s sad that some people have chosen to check out early of life early, because all they have done is taken a permanent solution to temporary challenges.

Your challenges are never greater than you can handle…with God’s help.  Only with his help can we make it through each day and on to the next.  But, thank goodness, he is there, and he cares.  Sometimes it may feel like you are going to break under the pressure or strain of what’s going on in your life.   But, please remember that you are stronger than you think, and more resilient than you know.

Powerful resources are at your disposal.  It only takes asking in the right direction (heavenward) in order to receive the help you need.  The universe stands ready and willing to come to your aid to help supply you with the ideas, the energy, the motivation, the means, and the way forward by which you will be able to release your potential and fulfill your purpose.

Some people claim they fear failure.  Instead, I agree with Marianne Williamson who wrote the following in her book Return To Love, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.”

So, it is not really failure that people fear.  It’s actually success that concerns them.  Why?  Because most have never stopped and thought through what it will be like to succeed over and over and over again.  Most don’t know how they will handle it when it is a daily and constant part of their lives.

How do you change that?  Think it through.  Believe that it is coming and that it will happen to you and flow through you to others.

Your potential, your ideas, and your dreams are ready to be released unto the world.  …And they need to be released.   Other people are counting on you.  Other people will see success in you and flow out to others all around.

In the midst of what you’re doing today, take five minutes and think about all of the great things you’ve been wanting to do.  Pick one that you absolutely want to accomplish before your last breath is drawn.  Pick the one that you want to contribute to the world – to be a positive part of your life’s legacy.  If you sense your potential burning so strongly inside of you that you can no longer hold it back, then you understand what I’m talking about.  You understand that you have  to move forward with it.  You have to share it with the world.

As this happens, you become the person you were meant to be!
