Lincoln County Sheriff's
Office Press Release

Those two women who had been charged on June 8th with felony drug conspiracy charges after attempting to provide an inmate illegal drugs while he was incarcerated at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center have been arrested.

Annette Loraine Craft, 46, of Lincolnton,  and Stacey Ann Butler, 44, of Cherryville,  were taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies Monday (June 11th).

Craft is charged with furnishing a controlled substance to inmates and four counts of conspiracy. She was jailed under a $40,000 secured bond. Butler was served warrants for conveying messages or weapons to convicts, misdemeanor larceny, possession of stolen goods and two counts of conspiracy. She was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office jail staff found the drugs while processing mail and alerted detectives. Detectives were able to determine the drugs were intended for a specific inmate who was awaiting sentencing. After obtaining jail records and other evidence, detectives identified two females who spoke with the inmate about the letter and conspired together to send the drugs. The drugs seized were the prescription opioid suboxone.

The inmate, Brandon Lashan Lineberger, 29, formerly of Lincolnton, is currently serving a prison sentence with the North Carolina Department of Corrections and will be officially served at a later date.  He is charged with four counts of felony conspiracy.

If you know someone who you suspect is participating in illegal drug activity, please call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Drug Tip Line at 704-736-8606. Callers can remain anonymous and all tips are investigated.
