East Lincoln Christian Ministries Break-In Case Closed After Second Suspect Arrested

DENVER - A second person wanted in connection with a break-in and theft at the East Lincoln Christian Ministries on Catawba Burris Road in Denver was arrested this morning, Septembe 13.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detective Mark Stamey arrested Elizabeth Parker, 33, of the 3100 block of Mack Ballard Road, Maiden, NC after she turned herself in at the East Lincoln District Sheriff’s Office around 11 a.m.
Sarah Elizabeth Leatherman, 44, of the 3900 block of East Maiden Road, Maiden, NC was taken into custody around 10 a.m. Thursday at a residence in the 7700 block of Skyline Drive, Sherrills Ford, NC without incident.
Detective Stamey said the suspects are accused of breaking into the East Lincoln Christian Ministries, a non-profit Christian Outreach, around 2:30 a.m. on August 30, 2013. Entry into the building was made through an access door and property valued at $1,000 was stolen. The suspect returned to the store around 6:30 a.m. and retrieved another $150 worth of clothing.
Video surveillance posted on the LCSO Facebook page and reports by area media outlets led to the identification of the suspect. Detective Stamey followed up on a number of tips from the public that finally led to the suspects.
Leatherman and Parker are charged with two felony counts of Breaking and Entering and two felony counts of Larceny after Breaking and Entering. They were placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $3,500 secured bond each.
