LINCOLNTON - Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office detectives following up on a larceny investigation located a meth lab in an outbuilding on Hull’s Grove Church Road.

Detectives Matt Burgess and Jon Propst went to 1244 Hull’s Grove Church Road to investigate information they had received on a nearby larceny when they encountered an individual coming out of an outbuilding. He told them he had a “Shake and Bake” meth lab in operation in the outbuilding.

The man and a teenager were taken into custody and the Narcotics Division was notified about the incident and continued the investigation.

Narcotics investigators charged Kenneth Michael Ingle, 28, of 1244 Hull’s Grove Church Road, Vale, NC and Emmanuel Watts, 16, of 7294 Chambers Lane, Vale, NC with one felony count each of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance Schedule II and Possess/Distribute Meth Precursors.

Both are being held without bond pending a first appearance hearing today in Lincoln County District Court.

A crew from the State Lab has been called in to clean up the methamphetamine precursors which included Drano, lithium batteries, muriatic acid, ammonium nitrate cold packs, and lye along with the drug pseudoephedrine.

It was the 20th meth lab found in Lincoln County in 2013.

A third person at the residence was also arrested on outstanding warrants in connection with an August 2013 break-in to four tractor trailers on Cat Square Road.

Robyn Michelle Mellon, 39, of 7294 Chambers Lane, Vale, NC was arrested on one felony count each of Buying and Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Stolen Goods. She was released after posting a $3,000 secured bond.
