Complaints Lead To Marijuana Arrest At Residence

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - On Saturday, September 30 patrol officers with the Lincolnton Police Department executed a search warrant at 1622 Sigmon Street, Lincolnton, N.C. The search warrant was the result of probable cause developed from different areas to include recent citizen complaints about the residence. 

Upon the execution of the search warrant at the residence, officers located approximately 65 grams of high grade marijuana, which was packaged in a way that was indicative of selling, delivering, and manufacturing of marijuana.  Additionally, officers located several items of drug paraphernalia that was indicative of selling, delivering, and manufacturing marijuana. All items were seized as evidence. 

The Lincolnton Police Department K-9 Chase assisted in the search and located the marijuana hidden within the residence. 

Officers arrested Terry Lee Hotchkiss, 58, of the residence.  Hotchkiss was transported to the Lincoln County Magistrate where he was formally charged with PWIMSD marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Hotchkiss was issued a $6,500 secured bond and a first appearance court date of Monday, October 2, 2017 in Lincoln County District Court.  Hotchkiss was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he has since posted bond and been released. 

Hotchkiss has a prior possession of marijuana conviction. 

Officer Isaiah Matthews was the investigating and charging officer.  Assisting with the operation and arrest were Sgt. Tiffany Cline, Officer Tom Hall, Officer Gustavo Laverde, and Officer Terry Posey.
