Lincoln County Sheriff's
Office Press Release

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Two people are facing felony charges after a domestic dispute led to a gunshot being fired through the front door of the home.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the incident in the 5800 block of Aster Lane, Stanley, NC around 7 p.m. on October 29, 2017. Deputies discovered the owner of the property, Johnny Lee Finandis, 69, had fired a shot from a 12-gauge shotgun through the front door of the home. Just inside the door was a small child laying on an inflatable mattress but no one was struck by the pellets.

The incident started when Finandis’s wife, Felicia, and her son got into an argument because his girlfriend was laughing at something they were watching on television. Ms. Finandis came out of an adjacent bedroom and the two females got into an altercation. Ms. Finandis’s son stepped between the two women and Ms. Finandis began swinging a knife she was holding. The knife struck the son causing an injury to his finger.

Johnny Finandis is charged with one felony count each of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a firearm into occupied property. He placed in the Harven A.Crouse Detention Center a no bond hold.

Felicia Finandis was charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and inflicting serious injury. She is being held in jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
