LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Allison Horne, a Receptionist at East Lincoln Middle School, appreciates her strong family roots in Lincoln County.

As a student she attended Rock Springs Elementary, East Lincoln Junior High, and East Lincoln High School. Allison’s parents both graduated from Rock Springs where her dad served as a coach and principal at East Lincoln Junior High and Senior High School.

She is proud to be a part of the community. In fact, she and her husband Dennis are happy that their children will be another generation educated by the schools that she once attended. Her son Dawson graduated from ELHS in 2017 and another son, Allden will graduate in 2019. Meanwhile, her daughter Ansley is attending ELMS.

Allison went to UNC-Charlotte and pursued a degree in Dance Education with K-12 certification. She enjoys her experience working in the front office at the middle school where she can interact with students and parents every day. During her five years as a receptionist she has many exciting days with all the activity that comes through the front doors of a middle school. Allison is always proud of the students, parents, and faculty that she works with. She explains that she is “blessed to be part of the school family—a community of friends.”

In fact, you will find her at most East Lincoln sporting events as a huge fan. She in some small way will even claim the many students she has watched grow up and will cheer them on as one of her own. She wants the students at East Lincoln and across the school district to never give up and to always try their best at everything they do. Allison also enjoys her family pets—dogs, cats, and horses. She teaches horseback riding lessons on her dad’s farm.

Lincoln County Schools values the many friendly faces that serve the community as a school receptionist. The hectic pace of daily activity in a school could never be managed if it were not for our school office staff. Just like Allison cheers on her students, everyone at LCS cheers on the dedicated service provided by our school receptionists.
