Fatal Shooting Resulted From Attempted Robbery
That Wednesday evening shooting near the Catawba-Lincoln County line off Startown Road was apparently the result of an attempted robbery.  The incident, shortly after 6 PM that day, left a 17-year-old from Lincolnton dead.  Two other young men have now been charged in the case.

Two People Arrested On Felony Drug Charges At Traffic Stop
A routine traffic stop for a burned out headlight led to the arrest of two people on drug charges. Over $8,000 in cash, 103 grams of marijuana and 44 grams of crack cocaine were found in the vehicle.
