East Lincoln’s Destiny Johnson and Sidney Dollar were named Players of the Year, girls Coach of the Year is Lincolnton’s Jimmy Carr with East Lincoln’s Jon Hancock named as the boys.

In the South Fork 2A Lincolnton won in the championship game over East Lincoln, the Newton-Conover girls won over Lake Norman Charter. Lincoln Charter took home victories for both the boys and girls in the Southern Piedmont 1A.

NLHS Relay Track Team Sets Record
The boys relay team of Jason Risse, Johnny Grant, Jason Thomson and Brian Risse ran the fastest 3200 Meter Relay in 1A/2A State history. They also brought home the record for Lincoln County and North Lincoln High School (8:12).

Mustangs Win In Overtime To Advance In Tournament
East Lincoln outscored Bandys  in overtime to win 71-69 in the semi-finals of the South Fork 2A Conference Tournament  played Wednesday night at CVCC. In the girls game Lake Norman Charter  won over the Lady Wolves 52-40.

Rebels Win Second 2A State Wrestling Title In Four Years
West Lincoln faced a familiar team this afternoon at at the Greensboro Coliseum Field House.  The Rebels (26-4) went up against Croatan (13-2) for the NCHSAA -2A Dual Team State Championship and came away with their second title in four years winning 54-16.

WLHS Wins 2A South Fork Athletic Conference Tournament
Conference Tournament Champion was West Lincoln with 234.5 points. They were also the regular season champs. First Place finishes for West Lincoln were Xander Pendergrass (132), Keaton Norman (138), Nathan Hull (152), and Canon Bridges (160). Coach Butch Ross was named Coach of the Year.

The Lincoln Charter Women’s swim team finished first with 475 points with North Lincoln coming in second. The men’s team for Lincoln Charter scored 496 points in their first place win with East Lincoln finishing second.

Mustangs Score 106 Points In Win Over Bandys
Both the boys and girls teams won over Bandys last night. The 106 points in the boys game is the second highest total by a Mustang basketball team, only surpassed by the 2015-2016 team who scored 107 points against the Mallard Creek Mavericks.
