High School Football Scores & Schedule
West Lincoln got an easy win; the Maiden Blue Devils whipped Foard; Cherryville lost to Bessemer City;  Lincolnton was stunned by Stuart Cramer; East Lincoln played well but came up short by a point; Bandys and St. Stephens played another close game; and Newton-Conover demolished Bunker Hill. August 18th High School Scores
West Lincoln opened the 2017 football season with a win over Draughn, but East Lincoln lost a close game to Forestview and Lincolnton was blown away by Stuart Cramer. Maiden beat Foard and Cherryville lost to Bessemer City. Here's a list of all the scores from area games Friday night (Aug. 18th).

Repeat Performance?
It was another Arkansas team that beat a different North Carolina team for the American Legion World Series Championship last year in Shelby. The team from Bryant, Arkansas plays against a Nevada team Monday and the Randolph County, NC team plays an unbeaten Nebraska team for a trip to the championship game on Tuesday.

ALWS Continues In Shelby
The American Legion World Series continues with three scheduled games and the conclusion of a suspended game from the night before Sunday at Keeter Stadium in Shelby. The North Carolina team from Randolph County is one of the undefeated teams in the tournament going into Sunday games.

The team from Nebraska became the first team to go 2-0 in the American Legion World Series and the team from Michigan the first to fall to 0-2. Those games were Friday's action in Shelby, where the tournament continues Saturday with Military Appreciation Day.
