#2 Lincoln Charter (25-4) will play #1 seeded Winston-Salem Prep (25-3) on Saturday, March 3 at 5 p.m. in the Fleming Gymnasium at UNC-Greensboro. Tickets are $9 and can be purchased at the venue.

Mustangs Move On To Play Forest Hills Tuesday, Feb. 27
East Lincoln outscored R-S Central 46-33 in the second half to break open a close game as they defeated the Hilltoppers by a score of 79-69 in the NCHSAA Sectional Championship played Saturday night in Denver.

East Lincoln outscored Draughn in the fourth quarter to win a close game; Lincoln Charter Eagles won while the Lady Eagles lost Thursday night in the second round of the NCHSAA Playoffs. Both East Lincoln and Lincoln Charter will play at home on Saturday at 7 p.m.

For the 2A NCHSAA State Playoffs both Lincolnton teams have earned a home game for Tuesday, February 20.  The Mustangs are listed as the #3 overall seed and will play at home. Lincoln Charter has earned a bye for the first round in the 1A playoffs.

Nathan Hull (145) of West Lincoln won a 13-0 decision over David Veltri of Carrboro for his State Championship. Xander Pendergrass (132), Keaton Norman (138) and Canon Bridges (152) all finished in third-place in their respective weight classes during the consolation finals with Ricky Reynolds (120) finishing in fifth-place.

NLHS Relay Track Team Sets Record
The boys relay team of Jason Risse, Johnny Grant, Jason Thomson and Brian Risse ran the fastest 3200 Meter Relay in 1A/2A State history. They also brought home the record for Lincoln County and North Lincoln High School (8:12).

East Lincoln outscored Bandys  in overtime to win 71-69 in the semi-finals of the South Fork 2A Conference Tournament  played Wednesday night at CVCC. In the girls game Lake Norman Charter  won over the Lady Wolves 52-40.

Rebels Win Second 2A State Wrestling Title In Four Years
West Lincoln faced a familiar team this afternoon at at the Greensboro Coliseum Field House.  The Rebels (26-4) went up against Croatan (13-2) for the NCHSAA -2A Dual Team State Championship and came away with their second title in four years winning 54-16.
