March For Babies, April 22 --- Family and corporate teams and individual walkers will gather to take steps for healthier babies on Saturday, April 22 at Hickory Crawdads Stadium, 2500 Clement Blvd., Hickory, NC 28601. The day’s activities include an opening program at 9:30 a.m. followed at 10 a.m. by a 3-mile walk.  Following the walk, participants will enjoy snacks and family-fun activities. Organized Adult Dodgeball League Second Meeting, April 25
--- The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation Department will hold a second interest meeting for an adult open and organized Dodgeball league on Tuesday, April 25 at the Lentz Recreation Center at the Betty G. Ross Park, 800 S. Madison Street in Lincolnton.  Interested teams should have a representative at this league meeting.  Team representatives will meet at 6:30 p.m. For additional information, please contact the recreation office at 704-735-2671.

Special Olympics Of Lincoln County, Friday, April 28 --- Approximately 250 participants from Lincoln County will compete in track-and-field events that include wheelchair races, running walking jumping and throwing events at Lincolnton High School on April 28 at 9:30 a.m.  Admission is free and the public is encouraged to come out and root on the athletes. The Lincoln Masonic Lodge will provide a free lunch for all the participants and some 400 volunteers.

East Lincoln Middle/North Lincoln Middle Kickball Tournament, April 28 --- A Kickball Tournament between East Lincoln and North Lincoln Middle schools will be held on Friday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m. The event will be held at North Lincoln Middle School, 1503 Amity Church Road, Denver, NC 28037. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for students to watch the event (students playing will not need to pay). Concessions and school spirit bandanas will be available for purchase.

WALC Healthy Outdoors Fun Day, Saturday, April 29 --- A day of outdoor adventure and activities for every age on Saturday, April 29  from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Sally’s Y, 1601 Forney Creek Parkway, Denver, NC. Corn Hole Tournament for ages 13 and up, $30 per team. Teams of two players each compete in elimination rounds starting at 10 a.m. Registration in advance by credit card, cash only day of event. Trailblazer Scavenger Hunt: Teams of two up to four people, ages five and up (families encouraged to participate) join forces to explore the Sally’s Y trail to find up to 10 points of interests.  Cost is $10 per team of two or $15 per team up to four people. Best time finding all 10 points of interest receives a prize. Enter between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for participants (open to public after 1 p.m.). Other events to participate in: Face Painting, Gaga Pit, YMCA Tours, Free Giveaways, Children’s Corn Hole, Life Sized Jenga Game, Community Garden Tour, Ropes Course Exhibition, Planko Board, Raffle Prizes, Food Trucks and More! Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber Golf Tournament, May 10 --- The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce will host their Annual Golf Tournament at Verdict Ridge Country Club on Wednesday, May 10 with registration beginning at 10 a.m.   Lunch will be at 11 a.m. (sponsored by Chick-Fil-A of Denver), and a Shot Gun Start at 12 p.m. Cost is $300 per team, $75 for members, $85 for non- members (Singles Welcome). Cost includes lunch, snacks, beverages (2 beer tickets), green fees, golf towel and one sleeve of golf balls. Also a putting contest for $5, two Mulligans for $10, raffle tickets, over $2,000 in Premium Prizes, be sure to bring extra cash!  Prizes and plaques for first place team, prizes for second and third place teams, prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive, hole-in-one contest. Catawba Springs Elementary Tee It Up for Technology Annual Golf Tournament, May 12 --- Funds generated from this year’s gold tournament will replace older computers and projectors for Smart Boards. Golfer check-in and continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. Golf tournament will be held rain or shine at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 12 at Verdict Ridge Country Club, 7332 Kidville Road, Denver, N.C. 4th Annual Caromont Community Challenge, Saturday, May 13 --- Lace up your running or walking shoes and mark your calendar for the fourth annual CaroMont Community Challenge. The 5k run and 1-mile fun walk will take place on Saturday, May 13 at Stuart W. Cramer High School in Belmont, with proceeds supporting the Gaston County Schools Robotics Program. Runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to attend a morning of family fun. The 5k run will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 1-mile fun walk at 9 a.m. Registration for the 5k is $15 per person or participants can register for a family rate. Registration includes a t-shirt. There is no fee to participate in the 1-mile fun walk but registration is required. Maybe you are interested in being involved but not competing? The Community Challenge also has a number of volunteer opportunities from registration to handing out water to participants, and corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available. NL Knights Football Golf Tournament Registration Now-Saturday, May 20 --- The First Annual North Lincoln Knights Football Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 20  with at 9 a.m. Shotgun Start at the West Port Golf Club in Denver, N.C. Tournament can have up to 30 foursome teams. Sponsorships are also available ranging from $100 to $1300 packages. Third Annual Lion Prowl Freedom Ride, Saturday, May 20 --- The Third Annual Lion Prowl Freedom Ride (Motorcycle Poker Run) will be held Saturday, May 20 to benefit the NC Lions Visually Impaired Fishing Tournament at Nags Head. The event will begin at 9 a.m. with registration at Blue Ridge Harley-Davidson, 2002 13th Avenue SE, Hickory, NC.  Registration fee is $20 per driver and $10 for riders. Each driver receives a free t-shirt, riders may purchase for $10. Motorcyclists will travel a pre-determined route with three stops and the trip will conclude at Camp Dogwood, 7050 Camp Dogwood Road in Sherrills Ford for a free meal and entertainment. Prize money for the best poker hand will be awarded ($500 First Place, $300 Second Place, $200 Third Place). Lincoln County Sports Hall Of Fame Ceremony, June 24 --- The 2017 Class (David Abernethy, Chip Ashley, Ron Christopher, Jim Cleamons, Roger Gantt, Clifford Surratt, Steve Warren) will be inducted into the Lincoln County Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at the James W.
