Lincolnton's Tyshawn Harris ran for 192-yards, recovered a fumble he returned for a touchdown, and had a pair of interceptions on defense. The senior was named the First Federal Player of the week for his performance in the Wolves' win over Bandys. Harris surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in rushing for the season (he has now run for 1,043-yards this year).

The 42-21 win was only the Wolves second this year. This Friday, they'll try for their third when they travel to West Lincoln.

The Rebels were shut down by Newton-Conover. The Red Devils scored on all but one of their first half possessions en route to an easy 58-8 victory.

Both teams are 1-2 in the South Fork 2A Conference. Newton-Conover, Maiden and East Lincoln are all 3-0.

The Mustangs came from behind for a second straight win over a county rival. After beating Lincolnton the previous week, they erased a 31-7 halftime deficit to beat North Lincoln 35-31. This week, they'll host Bandys.

Newton-Conover will travel to Lake Norman Charter on Friday. Maiden, after beating Lake Norman Charter 64-14 last week, will play at North Lincoln.

The Knights' inability to stop the run proved their downfall again in the loss to East Lincoln. They also had a big lead against Fred T. Foard and led Bessemer City by a pair of touchdowns early in that game. They even played close--trailing by only a TD--for much of the game against undefeated Alexander Central. But while they score far more points than most, they also give them up. Given Maiden's ability to score, about the only way the Knights could win this one is to score, score and score some more.

Cherryville travels to Monroe to play Union Academy on Friday. Bessemer City beat Union Academy by an 8-7 score last week, overcoming penalties, miscues and a lineup change. The Yellow Jackets, now 7-0, travel to Mooresville this week to play Pine Lake Prep. Thomas Jefferson Academy, the other undefeated team in the Southern Piedmont 1A Conference, plays at Highland School of Technology this week before they visit Bessemer City next Friday (Oct. 20th).
