Do you know of these variety of apples: Horse Apple, Keener Seedling, Rusty Coat or Cherryville Black that once existed (and maybe still do) in the areas of Crouse, Pumpkin Center and Cherryville.  Kerry Heafner a North Carolina native and a well-known Horticulture Extension Agent in Louisiana is looking to obtain some cuttings from them for his research.
