A raccoon killed by a Lincoln County resident and picked up by Animal Control has tested positive for rabies. The raccoon was picked up on June 24 and the official test results were received from the NC Laboratory of Public Health on June 28.

The Lincoln County  Haywires 4-H Electric Club built Yagi antennas from PVC pipe and metal tape measures at their meeting last week.  The project may be a big help in case the antennas are needed in an emergency to help amateur radio operators communicate with each other and provide help to emergency personnel.

The Christmas Tree on the Courtsquare in downtown Lincolnton is a tradition that dates back longer than most can remember.  A change is coming for 2017--this year, the tree will be artificial.
