Shady Grove Baptist Mobile Food Pantry, Saturday, May 20 --- Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3240 Tryon Courthouse Road, Cherryville, NC will host a Mobile Food Pantry on Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. for families in need in the immediate and surrounding communities of Gaston County. Boxes will be distributed first-come first-serve on this day only, one food box per household. For more info call 704-435-9605.

David’s Chapel UMC Homecoming Memorial Service, Sunday, May 21 --- David's Chapel United Methodist Church invites you to join them for their Homecoming Memorial Service on Sunday, May 21. First UMC Of Hickory Brain Injury Support Group, Tuesday, May 23 --- The Hickory Brain Injury Support Group will meet Tuesday, May 23 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 311 3rd Ave NE in Hickory, NC. Cameron Houser will share what has helped him cope and advance through different challenges. The mission of the HBISG is to offer help, hope, and a voice for people with brain injury and their families.

St. Paul’s Lutheran – Hardin, Movies On The Lawn, June 2, July 7, August 4 --- Please join us at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for Movies On The Lawn on the first Friday of each month this summer. Dates are June 2, July 7, and August 4. Fellowship and snacks will begin at 8 p.m. and depending on the sunset the movie will start between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Bring a chair or a blanket to sit on. Ranlo Church Of God Summer Praisefest, Saturday, June 3 --- Are you ready for some great gospel music? The annual Summer Praisefest is coming up on Saturday, June 3, 12:30-4 p.m., at the Ranlo Church of God, 1825 Spencer Mountain Road in Gastonia. The concert is free and sponsored by the church. Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Master of Ceremonies will be Bill Ward of We R Forgiven. Salem Lutheran and United Church of Christ Ty Smith Benefit Auction, Saturday, June 3 --- Salem Lutheran and United Church of Christ will hold their 12th Annual Benefit Auction that will benefit Ty Smith of Lincolnton. Ty was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on January 18, 2017 at the young age of 19. Ty graduated from Lincolnton High School in 2016 and had just begun his career when he was diagnosed and had not been on the job long enough to have medical insurance. Please come out to this event to help us raise funds for his medical bills and associated expenses. All proceeds raised will go to his expenses. The auction will be held Saturday, June 3 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Salem Lutheran and United Church of Christ, 3410 Startown Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Items include: cold, cough and flu medicine, Band-Aids, pain and allergy relief, vitamins and children’s medicine, and more! The event will be held in the church Family Life Center, 190 East Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC.
