Crouse UMC Homecoming, Sunday, October 1 --- Homecoming at Crouse United Methodist Church will be celebrated on Sunday, October 1 at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. St. Peter-By-The-Lake Episcopal: Alexander Community Concert Series, Sunday, October 1 --- The concert series begins its eighth season on Sunday, October 1 at 3 p.m. with Eight Track Parade, a cover band influenced by the 70s rock, pop, ballads, soul, and funk sounds. A reception to meet and greet the musicians will follow each performance. General admission is $15 for Adults, $10 for Seniors (65+) and Students, Children under 12 are free. Boger City UMC Pumpkin Patch, October 1-31 --- The pumpkins for the annual Pumpkin Patch to support the youth mission projects of Boger City United Methodist Church will arrive on September 30 from the Navajo Reservation near Farmington, New Mexico and will be available for purchase during the month of October. Pumpkins and gourds of many different sizes will be available from 75 cents to $50 depending on the size. A limited number of painted and decorated pumpkins will be available for an extra charge. Small and large pots of chrysanthemums will also be available. Bring your camera with you when you visit the Pumpkin Patch for photo opportunities! Boger City UMC Annual BBQ, Saturday, October 7 --- Boger City United Methodist Church will hold their Annual BBQ on Saturday, October 7 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in their church fellowship hall. The church is located at 2320 East Main Street in Lincolnton. Cost is $9 per plate for adults and $5 for children age 12 and under. Dine-in, carryout and drive thru service available. Gospelfest At Countryfest, Saturday, October 7 --- Countryfest in the town of Stanley, N.C. will have a gospel stage again this year on Saturday, October 7. No charge to attend the Gospelfest. Come and listen to some great bluegrass, Southern and contemporary gospel music from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Performers scheduled to appear include SPHC Bluegrass, Adam Beard and Sam Watts, all of Stanley, respectively at 11 a.m., 11:55 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. They will be followed by Don Herbert of Kannapolis at 1 p.m., the Drye Family of Stanley at 1:40 p.m., Tony Burchette of Morganton at 2:20 p.m. and We R Forgiven of Stanley to close out the event at 3 p.m. Bill Ward is serving as the master of ceremonies.
