Trinity Lutheran Men In Mission, Hurricane Relief Collection, Now Through October 15 --- The Men in Mission from Trinity Lutheran Church are collecting items for the hurricane relief effort in the Florida region.  Beginning Monday, October 9 and con continuing through Sunday, October 15 (and possibly October 22) a trailer will be stationed at the Union Volunteer Fire Department, 4588 Reepsville Road in Vale and will be open during th3 daylight hours for people to drop-off their donations. Items being collected are Bottle Water, Personal Hygiene Products (diapers for children and adults, deodorant, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products) and Clean-Up Supplies (sturdy trash bags, bleach products, latex gloves, masks, brushes). Boger City UMC Pumpkin Patch, Now Through October 31 --- Pumpkins of all sizes, chrysanthemums, and painted pumpkins are still available at the Pumpkin Patch to support the youth mission projects of Boger City United Methodist Church. Bring your camera for photo opportunities! Covenant Church Laps4Life Walk, Saturday, October 14 --- Crisis Pregnancy Center of Lincoln County will host their 4th annual Laps4Life event on Saturday, October 14 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Covenant Church, 2168 Gastonia Hwy, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Proceeds from the walk will go towards the remaining balance (approximately $61,000) on the Crisis Pregnancy Facility, 112 Doctors Park, Lincolnton, NC 28092 that was originally purchased in December, 2015 for $300,000. CPC is a faith-based non-profit organization that offers many free services (pregnancy tests, limited ultrasound, parenting education, counseling, etc.) and baby necessities (diapers up to size 6, clothing up to 2T). St. Mark’s Lutheran, Claremont Friends Of The Library: Night With Radney Foster, Thursday, October 26 --- The Claremont Friends of the Library (Catawba County Library System) is presenting a special night of food, stories, and original live music with Radney Foster on Thursday, October 26 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 3216 W. Foster will be reading and performing from his latest project, a book and song CD, that is a collection of fictional short stories influenced by his upbringing on the Mexican border in Del Rio, Texas.
