Heavner, Hovis Wedding

Joanna Lee Heavner and Matthew Jacob Hovis were united in marriage Saturday, July 7, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton. The Reverend David Mallory officiated the 3 o'clock afternoon ceremony. Parents of the groom hosted a NC State theme rehearsal dinner and parents of the bride hosted a cake cutting.

The bride is the daughter of Joel and Bambi Heavner of Lincolnton.  Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Heavner of Lincolnton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Bradford of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Joanna is a 2007 graduate of West Lincoln High School and a 2011 graduate of North Carolina State University.  She is employed by the Lincoln County School System.

The groom is the son of Jeffrey and Sara Hovis of Lincolnton.  Grandparents are Mrs. Ernestine Gunter and the late George L. Gunter, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James D. Hovis, all of Lincolnton, NC.

Matthew is a 2007 graduate of North Lincoln High School, and a 2011 graduate of North Carolina State University.  He is employed by the Lincoln County School System.

The wedding was directed by Mrs. Crystal Hartsoe. Music was provided by Dr. Cale Sain, Mr. Johnson Ramsaur, Mr. Mason McConnell and Mrs. Lauren Sherrill.

Maid of Honor was Miss Payton Payne of Taylorsville. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Alyssa Baker of Lincolnton, Miss Ashley Giles of Raleigh, Miss Carley Huffman of Denver, Miss Fallon Huffman of Denver, Mrs. Jeana  Heavner, of Cherryville, Mrs. Tara Heavner of Chicago, Illinois, and Miss Lainey Livernois of Lincolnton. Junior Bridesmaid was Miss Mary Helen Brown of Raleigh.

Flower girl was Miss Emmaline Cambell of Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Best Man was Mr. Jeffery Hovis, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Kyle Baker of Lincolnton, Mr. Tyler Baxter of Clinton, Mr. Michael Boger of Raleigh, Mr. Chad Campbell of Raleigh, Mr. Kirk Heavner of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Seth Heavner of Cherryville, and Mr. Justin James of Taylorsville.

Ringbearers were Master Brennan Heavner of Chicago, Illinois, and Master Miles Heavner of Cherryville.

Guest Book Attendants and Greeters were Hannah Carr, Candace Poovey, Betty Royster, and Caitlin Self.

The couple was honored with celebrations prior to their wedding. Family and friends held a tailgate theme party. Showers were given at Bethphage Lutheran, First Baptist, the home of Joyce Giles, and the home of Jill Hovis. A bridal luncheon was given by Kim Houser, Carole Pendelton and Kathy, Jena and Lauren Cacciatore at the home of Kim Houser.

After a honeymoon in Palm Beach, Florida the couple live in Lincolnton.
