No, we're not confused.  It is true that the celebration of the Battle of Ramsour's Mill by the Lincoln County Historical Association was held in May.  It is also true that a celebration of the event will be held this Saturday beginning at 10 AM.

The battle was actually fought on June 20, 1780, so this Saturday marks the 235th anniversary of the Battle of Ramsour's Mill.  The battle took place on what is now the site of Kiser School at 301 Jeb Seagle Drive in Lincolnton.

In fact, when they were building the school, original plans actually called for construction on the hill that was the primary site of the battle, but history buffs objected and the battle site was preserved adjacent to the school on the east side.
