LINCOLNTON - Lincoln County Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce its recent hire of Ahmani Pegues, who joins the Extension team as the 4-H Program Assistant. Her role will be providing support to 4-H programming and club management.
She states “As the 4-H Program Assistant, I am looking forward to engaging communities, fostering development among youth, and providing opportunities for growing and learning.”
Ahmani comes to Lincoln County Cooperative Extension as a recent graduate from UNC-Greensboro where she received a B.S. in Science. While in Greensboro she worked as a paid intern for the Greensboro Housing Coalition, serving as the diabetes prevention coordinator. She also volunteered with the Sedgefield Presbyterian Church. At the church she helped with the “Cooking Matters” series and worked as a servant gardener. In her hometown of Hickory, she has partnered with the Catawba County Cooperative Extension, working to create community gardens in underserved neighborhoods.
We are excited to welcome Ahmani and look forward to her serving Lincoln County 4-H!
