Clip Echendu Recognized For Academic Excellence

One of Gaston College’s best and brightest was recently honored for his hard work.

Clip Echendu was the college’s recipient of the North Carolina Community College System Academic Excellence Award for 2020, according to Gaston College spokeswoman Stephanie Michael Pickett. An electronics engineering technology student in the engineering and industrial technologies program, Echendu was chosen to represent Gaston College from among the group of students recognized for outstanding achievement within their programs and majors. The native Nigerian was recently listed among those slated to earn an associate in applied science degree at the college.

In pursuit of his dream of becoming an electronics engineer, Echendu came to America three years ago. And then in January of 2018, he enrolled at Gaston College, where he met various advisers, leaders and teachers who shaped his goals.
