LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Wilma Jean Dellinger was a lifelong member of Boger City United Methodist Church. Jean loved the Lord, her church, and her community and was a faithful servant throughout her life.

Following her death in February 2019, Jean gave a generous monetary gift to Boger City United Methodist Church. To honor her memory, the Jean Dellinger Scholarships have been established to support young members of the church in their quest for higher education. Each of the scholarships is in the amount of $2,000 per year and is renewable up to a total of five years.

The Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the first group of recipients of the Jean Dellinger Scholarships:

  • Miller Brogden is the son of Chris and Jenny Brogden and a student at UNC-Chapel Hill.
  • Madeline Finger is the daughter of Kelcy and Menta Finger and will be entering UNC- Wilmington.
  • Makayla Finger is the daughter of Kelcy and Menta Finger and will be entering UNC-Wilmington.
  • Kierstin Kamanns is the daughter of Jonathan and Melissa Kamanns and a student at Gaston College.
  • Jonah Lanier is the son of Tracy and Susan Lanier and a student at NC State.
  • Kassidy Lineberger is the daughter of Gene and Kelly Lineberger and a student at ASU.
  • Meghan Pressley is the daughter of Steve and Leslie Pressley and an ASU student.
  • Delaney Williams is the daughter of Patrick and Kristy Williams and will be entering ASU.
  • Zealy Williams is the daughter of Patrick and Kristy Williams and a Gaston College student.
