NEWTON, N.C. - Carol Sue Spears Corvin, 75, of Newton passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her residence.

She was born November 26, 1948 in Tazewell County, Virginia to the late Dewey Spears and Effie Parks Puckett. Carol was a member of Journey Baptist Church in Catawba and enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning, playing bingo, fishing and going to yard sales.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 55 years Donald E. Corvin Sr. of the home; sons Donald E. Corvin Jr. (Donnie) of Newton, Charles (Jason) Corvin and wife Shannon of Maiden; daughters  Margaret Huffman and husband Billy of Conover, Donna S. Corvin of Hickory, Melissa Peeler and husband James of Vale; grandchildren Billy Huffman, Krysta Peeler (Tyler Jackson), Heather Hite (Austin), Shana Corvin and Renesmae Corvin; great-grandchildren Alek Huffman, Zayden Hite, Maddox Johnson.

A memorial service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Journey Baptist Church in Catawba. Rev. Billy Murphy will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Journey Baptist Church.
