Rodney Marshall Beal

January 5, 1945 – April 22, 2024


MAIDEN, N.C. - Rodney Marshall Beal, age 79, of Maiden passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton.

He was the son of the late Fred Marshall Beal and Hazel Beatrice Cline Beal. He was born January 5, 1945 in Catawba County. Rodney was a graduate of Maiden High School and retired from Bell South after 38 years of dedicated work. He had many hobbies which included camping, welding, tinkering in his building and restoring antiques. He was a proud member of the Foothills Antique Power Association of North Carolina and Telephone Pioneers of America. Rodney was a member of East Maiden Baptist Church in Maiden.

In addition to his parents; brothers James Robert Beal and Gordon Arnold Beal; brother-in-law Curtis Neal; and sister-in-law, Brenda Ford preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years Dianne Schronce Beal of the home; two daughters  Rhonda Beal Woody and husband, Chris of El Paso, Texas, Jennifer Beal of Maiden; special friend Kevin Fulbright and wife, Kate of Maiden; two grandsons Tanner Woody and wife, Carlene of Summerville, S.C., Eli Woody of Columbia, S.C.; granddaughters Rachael Woody Mark and husband Alex of Nashville, Tenn., Morgan Woody and Brandon Kinley of Anderson, S.C., A’chantis Bruce of Maiden; great-grandsons Briggs Fox, Tillman and Sutton Woody; great-granddaughters Maisyn Kinley; Mollie Claire Woody due September 2024; nephews Justin Beal of Texas, Christopher Beal and wife, Tiffany of Texas; niece Paige Beal of Nebraska; in-laws Judy Neal of Lincolnton, Terry and Pat Schronce of Lincolnton, Carol Statham of Spruce Pine.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden with Pastors Nathaniel Austin, John Robbins and Jason Canipe officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-2:45 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you donate in memory of Rodney Beal and in honor of Maisyn Kinley to Pediatric Therapy Works at AnMed Foundation, 800 N. Fant St., Anderson, SC 29621.
