East Lincoln girls 72, St. Stephens 53

The East girls recorded their 21st win of the season.  AT 12-0 in the Western Foothills Conference, they've already won the regular season title.

Kiara Anderson had 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists; Emma Montanari scored 21, had 8 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists and blocked two shots.  Taniyah Thomas scored 8 points, had 5 steals, three rounds and three assists. Abbie Hege and Lane Pethel also scored 8 points each; and Brooklyn Miller had 3.

East Lincoln boys 69, St. Stephens 53

The Mustangs started and finished strong in getting their 13th win: they scored 26 points in the first period and 25 in the fourth.  In a balanced attack, Jackson Fannon had 18 points; Houston Hartsell scored 14; Christian Atkins 12; and Davis Hill 10.  Landon Aungst had 7 points; Grant Lawless and Jaxon Dollar 4 each.  

North Lincoln boys 87, Fred T. Foard 43

If you like to see a high-scoring game, the North Lincoln Knights are the team to watch.  They've scored 80 or more points in 12 of their 22 games this season.  On Friday night, the Knights put up enough points in the first half to beat the Foard Tigers.  They led 46-25 at halftime in winning their 17th game of the season.  Kellen Karr scored 24 points; Tanner Lineberger had 18, 11 of them in the first period.  Ty Chandler and Caleb Kidd each had 11.  Ben Heavner scored 8 points; Sawyer Cathey 5; Eli Sipe 3; Luke Grooms, Emerson Viverette and Malik Bledsoe, 2 apiece; and Ty Sanders 1.  The Knights hit 8 three-pointers.  The win keeps North in second place in the Western Foothills Conference behind unbeaten Hickory.

North Lincoln girls 47, Fred T. Foard 44

The North Lincoln girls came from behind to beat Fred T. Foard for their 14th win of the season.  Trailing 12-8 at the end of the first period and 25-19 at halftime, they pulled to within two points in the third and outscored the visitors 13-8 in the fourth quarter.

Ally Smith scored 15 pints, had three assists, a rebound and a steal; Hailey Halger had 11 points, 6 rebounds and two assists; Madi Black scored 8 points, had 7 rebounds and two assists; Ashlyn Black had 7 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, and a steal; Addison Grice had 3 points, 6 rebounds, two steals and an assist; and Reagan Karr had 3 points, two rebounds and a steal.


The Western Foothills Conference Tournament will be played Monday Feb. 19th thru Friday Feb. 23rd.  The opening round games will be played on the higher seeded team's home court with the semifinals on Wednesday (Feb. 21st) and the championships Friday (Feb. 23rd) at Hickory High School.  


The Catawba Valley Conference Tournament will also be played that week with games starting on Monday (Feb. 19th) at the higher seeded team.  The semifinals will be played Wednesday & Thursday (feb. 21st & 22nd) at Catawba Valley Tech.  The championship games will be Friday (Feb. 23rd) at CVCC.

The loss dropped the Wolves into a fourth place tie in the league with Bandys after both lost.
