Lincolnton boys 48, Maiden 44

The Blue Devils led the Wolves 35-30 going into the fourth quarter, but LHS outscored Maiden 18-9 in the final period to win their 17th game of the season.  Tyler McClain led Lincolnton with 21 points, two of them on clutch free throws in the final ten seconds of the game.  Landen Lyerly scored 12 points, ten of them in that fourth quarter.  Khamoni Heath's defensive effort was key--he had three steals and blocked three shots.  

Raheim Misher led Maiden with 19 points, Cross Arias had 9 and Landon Teague 6.  

The LHS win left both teams with 8-5 Catawba Valley Conference records. Lincolnton is 17-6 overall; Maiden is 14-9.  They are tied for third place in the league with one game left in the regular season. Maiden plays at league leading Newton-Conover on Friday; Lincolnton will host West Lincoln.


East Burke boys 62, West Lincoln 54

The Rebels had the same problem as Maiden--getting outscored in the fourth quarter.  West led 28-11 at halftime and 43-41 going into the final period, but the Cavaliers outscored them 21-11 in the fourth.  


West Caldwell boys 77, Bandys 69

The loss drops the Trojans to 7-6 in CVAC play. They finish the regular season at home against Bunker Hill on Friday.


North Lincoln boys 96, West Iredell 51

The Knights came close to the century mark, topping 90 points for the fourth time this season and scoring 80 or more for the 15th time in 23 games.  Kellen Karr had a triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.  Three of his teammates also scored in double figures: Ben Heavner with 14; Emerson Viverette with 13; and Ty Sanders with 11.  Caleb Kidd, Ty Chandler, and Tanner Lineberger each had 8 points; Malik Bledsoe scored 6; Luke Grooms had 4; Carson Engstrand 3; and Eli Sipe 1.  

North scored more points in the first half than their opponents had in the whole game; they led 54-26 at halftime.

The Knights finish the regular season at East Lincoln on Friday.  At 10-3 in the Western Foothills Conference, they're in second place behind unbeaten Hickory.  They are now 18-5 overall.


East Lincoln 59, North Iredell 58

The Mustangs won their fourth in a row, but it wasn't easy.  Houston Hartsell made a driving layup with two seconds left in the game to give East their 14th win of the season. Davis Hill led his team in scoring with 17 points; Jackson Fannon had 14.  Grant Lawless scored 8, Houston Hartsell 7, Landon Aungst 6, Christian Atkins 4, and Jaxon Dollar 3.  

East is now 14-9 overall, 8-5 in the WFAC.  They'll host North Lincoln on Friday.


Lincoln Charter boys 56, Bradford Prep 55

The Eagles pulled into a three-way tie for the top spot in the Catawba Shores Conference.  Now 11-2 in the league, they're tied with Corvian Community and Pine Lake Prep.  Lincoln Charter is 17-8 overall.

The Eagles trailed 41-36 going into the final period, but outscored the Bears 20-14 in the fourth for the win.  They'll host Mountain Island Charter in their final regular season game on Friday.


Hickory boys 65, Fred T. Foard 44

The Tigers were no match for the undefeated Red Tornadoes, who are now 23-0 for the season.  Foard will play at St. Stephens on Friday.


Cherryville plays at the NC School of Science & Math in Morganton on Wednesday (Feb. 14th) and hosts Thomas Jefferson on Friday.


East Lincoln girls 72, North Iredell 50

Kiara Anderson had another double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds.  She also had 8 assists and three steals.  Emma montanari scored 19 points, had 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 assists, and blocked two shots.  Taniyah Thomas scored 9, had 5 steals, 2 assists and a blocked shot; Nevaeh Atkins had 6 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds.  Now 22-1 overall, the East girls are 13-0 in the WFAC. They host North Lincoln Friday.


North Lincoln girls 63, West Iredell 8

Holding their opponents to just 8 points for the game, North won their 15th game of the season.  They are 6-6 in conference play.


Hickory girls 46, Fred T. Foard 42


Maiden girls 53, Lincolnton 43

Khiara Culliver had 18 points for Maiden, Reagan Rembert had 11.  Curmiya Tillman scored 12 points for LHS; Akira Connor had 8; Daphca Dyson had 7; Nyla Johnson 6; Justice Smith and Jordyan Williams, 3 apiece; Sarah Rhyne and Aidyn Armstrong each had 2.

The win secures second place in the CVAC for Maiden, now 11-2 in the league, 14-8 overall. Maiden will play at Newton-Conover Friday; LHS will host West Lincoln.  


East Burke girls 100, West Lincoln 21

The CVAC leading East Burke girls improved to 22-0 overall, 13-0 in the conference. West falls to 6-7, 9-14 overall.


Bandys girls 56, West Caldwell 22


Lincoln Charter girls 38, Bradford Prep 7

The win makes LCS 11-2 in the Catawba Shores Conference, in second place behind 13-0 Community School of Davidson
