Kiara Anderson had 25 points, 5 rebounds, and three steals; Emma Montanari scored 15, also had 5 rebounds, 6 steals, 5 assists and blocked four shots.  Nevaeh Atkins scored 14 points, had 4 steals, 3 assists, and two rebounds; Lane Pethel had 9 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists; Taniyah Thomas had 7 points, 5 steals, two rebounds and 3 assists; and Abbie Hege scored 4 points.

The win puts East into the semi-finals against the North Lincoln girls Wednesday evening at 6 PM at Hickory High School.

North Lincoln boys 70, Fred T. Foard 68

The Tigers made it close with a big third quarter that evened the score after the Knights had a 10-point halftime lead; but North pulled it out at the end, getting their 20th win of the season and advancing to the semi-finals against Statesville Thursday evening at 7:30 at Hickory High.

Statesville beat St. Stephens 76-64 in their first round game of the Western Foothills Conference tournament.  The Knights beat the Greyhounds twice during the regular season.

Kellen Karr scored 25 points, had 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for North.  Ty Sanders scored 13 points, had two rebounds, an assist and a steal; but the contribution of Carson Engstrand was very important to the Knights.  The senior had 10 points including making six of eight free throws; had six rebounds, two assists and a steal.  Ty Chandler scored 8 points; Ben Heavner 7; Caleb Kidd 5; and Tanner Lineberger 2.

East Lincoln boys 81, North Iredell 67

A third quarter surge put the Mustangs into a semi-final meeting with unbeaten Hickory at 7:30 Wednesday evening.

All five East Lincoln starters were in double figures: Jackson Fannon had 23 points; Christian Atkins had 15; Davis Hill scored 13 points; and Houston Hartsell and Grant Lawless had 12 points each. Jaxon Dollar scored 6 points.

Hickory won its 25th game of the season without a loss, beating West Iredell 97-54. While the Red Tornadoes score a lot of points (80 or more in 14 of their wins), it's their defense that has kept them undefeated.  They held opponents to less than 60 points in 16 games.  They had two regular season wins over the Mustangs, 77-52 and 75-61. For East to win Wednesday, they'll need to make some of their long-range shots: they hit 6 of 16 in their first meeting with Hickory and 7 of 20 in the second.

North Iredell girls 62, Fred T. Foard 54

The Raiders' win over the Tigers puts them into a Thursday evening semi-final against Hickory.  The Hickory girls beat Statesville 61-10 Monday.
