LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Leona Brackett Dellinger, 88, of Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at her residence.

She was born July 29, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late Hillard and Dorothy McLain Brackett. Leona was a member of Boger City United Methodist Church and retired from Vermont American where she was manager of customer service and traffic manager.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dellinger; brother, Bob Brackett; sister, Mary Ellen Williams; and grandsons, Zachary Young and Adam Schick.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son David Dellinger and wife Marie of Lincolnton; daughter Teresa Edmonds and husband Denny of Locust; stepdaughters Lisa Schick and husband Rob of Lincolnton, Teresa Lawing and wife Amy of Lincolnton; brothers Steve Brackett and wife Jeannie of Newton, Kenny Brackett and wife Teresa of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Leona’s life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11 a.m.  at Boger City United Methodist Church, 2320 E Main St, Lincolnton, NC. Rev. Ronnie Roseboro will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Hollybrook Cemetery, 302 Hollybrook Ave, Lincolnton, NC.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. at Boger City United Methodist Church.
