The Business & Professional Women's Club made a difficult decision: with contestants already signed up to compete in the annual scholarship pageant and practices already underway, they decided to go ahead with the Apple Queen Pageant. Of course, with the pandemic still happening, it will be different this year.
They cut back on the number of practices and did their best to maintain social distancing of the contestants and others; required masks when in close contact; took every precaution possible to make sure the contestants avoided the coronavirus. Come Saturday night, the pageant will be held.
This year, it will be at the Cultural Center, and the audience won't be able to be there--they'll have to watch it online.
If you want to see the pageant, you'll need to purchase access via Venmo or PayPal by not later than 10 AM Saturday. The live stream will begin at 6:15 and the pageant will get underway at 6:30 Saturday evening, but don't wait--purchase your 'ticket' now!
That way, you'll have access to the 2020 Miss Lincoln County Apple Queen Pageant livestream as 21 girls from across the county compete to become the next Lincoln County Apple Queen. A professional film crew will provide the video streaming.
The BPW event gives over $7,000 worth of scholarships annually to the contestants. They've sponsored the Apple Queen Pageant for over 40 years; and they were determined not to let the pandemic rob this year's contestants of a chance to compete.
