LOWESVILLE, N.C.––Gospel greats the Mylon Hayes Family are coming to Living Word Ministries.

The Hudson-based family group will perform a free concert at the Lowesville church, coming up on Saturday, July 13, at 6 p.m. And sharing the bill will be the Rogers Family of Rutherfordton, according to Carroll Cooke, the church’s concert co-ordinator.

The Hayes Family ministers through music on a full-time basis. Mylon Hayes is a Boone native, and Wendy Hayes, his wife for a quarter-century now, is from Morganton. Both are lifelong singers, having grown up singing in their churches. They have three children: twin sons Connor and Bailey and daughter Kennedy.

The Hayeses say they’re committed to bringing others to the salvific knowledge of Christ through their musical message. And they hope you’ll join them for some great music, too.

Cooke reminded the public that Living Word features concerts by Southern gospel bands on the second Saturday of every month and bluegrass gospel groups on the fourth Saturday.

To learn more, call Cooke at (704) 618-9762. You may also e-mail your queries to him at

Living Word Ministries is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville, just down from Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
