Jean Lackey Cardwell
November 26, 1940 - November 4, 2018

CONOVER, N.C. - Jean Lackey Cardwell, 77, of Conover went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Carolina Caring of Sherrills Ford.

She was born November 26, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late Delos and Alice Livingston Lackey. Jean was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Cardwell Sr. and granddaughter, Amanda Phillips.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons Kenneth Ray Cardwell Jr. of Conover, Joseph Dwayne Cardwell of Manchester, Ohio; daughter Benita Cardwell Deal and husband Tim of Claremont; brothers Roy J. Lackey and wife Mae of Lenoir, Roger D. Lackey and wife Jean of Clyde, N.C.; grandchildren Christopher Cardwell, Michael Cardwell, Joseph Cardwell, Kelly Cardwell Washburn and husband Jake; two nephews; two nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-niece.

A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. Pastor Eric Hollar will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.

Memorials may be made to Carolina Caring of Robinson Rd., 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
