Betty Gantt Welch
October 30, 1941 - December 2, 2018

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Betty Gantt Welch, age 77, of Hillside Drive in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Land officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Welch was born October 30, 1941 in Cleveland County to the late Hazel and Alda Sue Heavner Gantt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Welch; and two brothers, Richard and Roy Gantt. She worked as a cook at Zipper’s Restaurant.

Mrs. Welch is survived by sons, Paul Lail and wife Elaine of Maiden, and John Lail and wife Gail of Lincolnton; four daughters, Cindy Taylor, Annie Carpenter, Becky Bennett and husband Chris, and Lisa Lail, all of Lincolnton; a brother, Bobby Gantt; three sisters, Faye Reynolds, Patsy Sipe, and Gail Williams; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Christian Ministry of Lincoln County, PO Box 423, Lincolnton, NC 28093, or to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Gift Processing Administrator, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.

Warlick Funeral Home of Lincolnton, N.C. is serving Welch family.
