Virginia Stewart Ledford
September 15, 1931 - January 7, 2019

DENVER, N.C. - Virginia Stewart Ledford , age 87, of Denver passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019.

She was born in Catawba County, September 15, 1931, to the late Eugene Stewart and Jennie Hunsucker Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester (Jim) Ledford; four brothers, Craig Stewart, Ray Stewart, Grover Stewart, John Stewart; three sisters, Inez S. Sigmon, Margie S. Spencer and Daisy S. Gregory.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Sherry Deal Wagoner and husband David of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Morgan (Garrett) Olin, Megan (Jeremy) Belote; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Delane Stewart of Claremont N.C.

Virginia was a member of Westport Baptist Church in Denver. Before retiring, she worked as a bookkeeper for Stewart Construction and Walker Construction.

The family would like to thank Catawba Regional Hospice for their support and loving care of Virginia during her time of need.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Westport Baptist Church in Denver, N.C., with visitation from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westport Baptist Church, He Is Worthy Capital Campaign, 2372 Lake Shore Road South, Denver, NC, 28037 or Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.

Warlick Funeral Home of Lincolnton, N.C. is serving the Ledford family.
