Lamar Marvin Hepler
April 15, 1939 - February 18, 2021

SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. - Lamar Marvin Hepler, 81, of Sherrills Ford passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

He was born April 15, 1939 In Schuylkill County, Pa. to the late Alfred Frank Hepler and Myda Smith Hepler. Lamar was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Sherrills Ford and a United States Army veteran. He retired from Merita Bakery in Charlotte after many years of service. He enjoyed volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, attending the men’s group at church, and coaching baseball when his sons were younger.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years Martha Kimmel Hepler of the home; sons Marvin Lamar Hepler and wife Brenda of Lyman, S.C., Franklin Lamar Hepler and wife Linda of Sterling, Va.; grandchild Jackie-Stephen Craig Brittain.

A private memorial service to celebrate Lamar’s life will be held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Sherrills Ford. Rev. Mark Muckler will officiate. Burial will follow in the church columbarium.
