Ronald Edward Chatman, 65, of Hickory passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.
He was born May 13, 1955 in Caldwell County to the late Jerry Chatman and to Virginia McGillen Chatman of Granite Falls. Ronald was a member of Beacon Church of Hickory where he served as deacon and was a scout leader with Boy Scouts of America. He was the owner and operator of Ronbuilt Homes.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Brian Chatman and Matthew Chatman.

Grandchildren: Olivia Chatman, Cole Chatman, Alayna Simmons, Lee Simmons, Austin Simmons, and Caleigh Huffman
A celebration of life service to celebrate Ronald’s life will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton, NC 28658. Rev. David Daly will officiate.
