Today in History in 1864 Abraham Lincoln was elected to his 2nd term as President; in 1904 President Theodore Roosevelt defeats Alton B Parker; in 1932 Franklin Roosevelt was elected 32nd President for 1st time; and in 1960 John F. Kennedy beat VP Richard Nixon to become the 35th U.S. President.
