Which Is Correct

Malina Fuller
Guest Writer

To be politically correct is a very powerful and popular topic today. However, some people believe it is more important to be politically correct than biblically correct. I am not one them. In fact, I believe the complete opposite. It is more important to be biblically correct. This was even a problem in Jesus’ time. The people were required to watch what they said and did. If they did not and the Roman Government wanted to, they would be able to throw these individuals into prison or worse. If you were to go throughout the various Gospels, you can read about Jesus teaching the ways of God, not man.

There are two things I will discuss today. They are both considered an issue where it is more important to be politically correct. The first one I will examine is the subject of Abortion. There are those who claim that the unborn child is only a fetus and therefore not consider even alive. Well, the bible tells us differently. If an unborn child is not alive (sort to speak) how can it be called by God before birth. There were two prophets of God who were called before birth to be used by Him (Isaiah 49:1 and Jeremiah 1:5). Also, everyone who is considered alive have feelings. In Luke 1:41-44 it reads that while still inside the womb, John the Baptist leaped for joy as Mary approached her cousin, Elizabeth. God plays an important role in all creation, including the life of the unborn child, (Psalm 139:13-16). I will conclude this matter by stating that in Proverbs 6:16-19, there is a list of six abominations to the Lord. The second one on the list is the shedding of innocent blood. You can’t get any more innocent than an unborn child.

The second issue I will examine is same sex marriage. God made man and woman. There’s no debate in that part (unless your one of those who believe in evolution, which is a topic for another day). The bible also states that a man is to cleave unto his wife and become one flesh, (Genesis 2:24). When God made Adam, He saw that Adam needed a help mate. This is when He decided to make Eve, a woman. The mate God made for Adam was a woman, not a man, (Genesis 2:20-24). The Holy Word also states rather simply in Leviticus 18:22, man is not to lay with another man as one does with a woman. He doesn’t only mention it in the Old Testament but the New Testament as well (Romans 1:26-28). So, as you can see, same sex marriage is simply wrong. These two items have been in debate and courts for quite a few years now, but I am unsure why. The bible clearly states what is right and what is wrong. People need to start standing for the bible, being more concerned with what is biblically correct and not worry so much about the rest.
