Liz Loved Dancing

Paulette Ballard
Guest Columnist

Elizabeth Grimaldi told me she is very proud to be the daughter of parents who had the means to give her many things.

At an early age she started dance lessons with Ms. Millers Kiddies in New York City. She also had a teacher who came to her house to teach her piano lessons. This was from age 8-to-14 years old.

During this time, she was entered in a city-wide talent event for children with dancing and singing abilities.

Eventually Liz was chosen to be in a group of gifted children who would perform weekly on WOR radio, and later Channel 6 on TV. These children were judged on singing, dancing, response to questions and appearance every week.

Liz was 8-years-old at this time and the contest lasted 10 weeks with weekly eliminations. Liz was thrilled that she made it through all 10 weeks.

Liz said she really enjoyed this experience and she continued with piano through her college years. She was able to apply this to her work and activities over the years.
