When You...But God

Speaker, Forward-Thinker

Have you ever felt stressed, worrisome, or unsure? Does it seem like you’ve awakened in the middle of an episode of The Twilight Zone? When you’re feeling stressed, tap into that place that is your core being. Maybe you’re aware of that place, or maybe you’ve forgotten all about it. Either way, it’s a place that can provide you with immeasurable amounts of determined force.

Only in that place will you find the peace that you’re looking for. Why? Because in your core being is where your beliefs about God, fellow man, and yourself reside.  And, it’s a repository of faith that you can draw from. You have been storing up faith deposits for years.  Now is the time to use part of that savings account – to cash in part of those accumulations.  In doing so, you will realize that God is still there, other people are good, and that you have the capacity to go the distance.

Yes, life stinks, sometimes. Life is scary, sometimes. But, storms pass and evils fade into history. One day, some of these things will seem small in comparison to how they might appear, today. How? By making it through to the end of the challenges that set themselves in front of you.

Coming through on the other side helps you realize just how much moxie, faith, courage, and strength that God has built in you and developed in you since Day 1.  Also, weathering a storm helps you realize just how blessed you have been with true blessings— not the fake things that you might have been hiding behind or wanted to think were important.

Ironically, when the footing underneath you seems to give way and ceases to be dependable, you have to look elsewhere. Meaning, by looking beyond the temporal things that we see on a daily basis and into God’s deep, abiding love that will hold us fast, we can be reassured that time and distance will not separate us from the beauty of life that continues to strengthen the foundation of the world that we experience.

You may feel one way, now, and another way, later…but God hasn’t changed. You may think there is no purpose behind seemingly senseless things…but God sees how you can benefit. You may question reality and the absence of logical answers…but God… But God.

Keep going back to the place that will help you make sense of today, yesterday, and tomorrow. We have weathered other storms, and we will grow through these, as well.

When you…but God.
