Rules & Laws
Written July 7, 2020

Judge Rembert
Guest Columnist

Children come into a world with rules...
Loving parents make the rules for...
For little ones...
At first rules are simple...
Eat your food...
Don't pull out all the pots...
Don't run in the house...
Don't yell and scream in the house...

Rules make everyone's life easier...
No child really wants to be in trouble...
Parents who have no rules have problems...
They have children who run wild...
The parents are unhappy and...
And the children are really unhappy...

As children mature they enter schools...
Schools have rules...
These children are in trouble from the first day...
They do not understand rules...
They resent teachers...
They do not like the other kids...
They are just not happy...

As these children mature there are more problems...
Now the rules become laws...
Laws that they do not understand...
Why do they have to follow laws...
Stupid laws...Stupid rules...
Once again, they are very unhappy...
They have few friends...

Now they look for friends...
Friends who do not like laws and rules...
Friends who think the world is wrong...
Wrong to have laws...
Now these children are grown...
Maybe not grown...just taller...

They do not understand why red lights are...
Are so important...
Why paying for items they want is right...
Why the world runs better...
Better with laws...

These tall people are lost...
They are unhappy with the world...
The world that other people have built...
These tall people enjoy chaos...
Chaos give them a feeling...
A feeling of power...
They scream and yell...
They fuss and cuss...
They are often rude and crude...

They spend hours planning...
Planning their next chaos...
Planning to stop others...
Others from living a stress free life...

Actually no life is stress free...
But most lives are calmer when...
When a person...any age...
Lives by the rules and laws...

Bad laws can be changed...
A life lived in chaos is sad...
When you abstain your joy for chaos...
You will never know...
Know peace...

PEACE IS PRICELESS
PEACE GROWS IN YOUR SOUL
PEACE CALMS FEARS

More About Judge Rembert: WWII made Judge an only child when her half-brother was killed in the war. She lived in a tiny town in South Carolina until she was eight and her Mother went to work. She was sent to a boarding school in Belmont, N.C. From that time on she has lived back and forth in the two Carolinas. They are both home. She was born dyslexic and did not know what the problem was or that it had a name until she was about 45. She was unable to spell so she never put words on paper until she was 65 and had a computer with spell check. She comes from a long line of story tellers and a Mother that taught her much by telling stories. Stories about people and how they faced life and how they dealt with problems. If you read what she writes you may hear her Mother and her Grandmother talking to her. She is thrilled to know that anyone reads her words and finds them interesting. Oh, she is 75 now and she now makes her home in Aiken, S.C. If you like Judge’s writings or would like to comment on them let her know by emailing judgerembert@bellsouth.net.
