Call The 800 Number

Judge Rembert
Guest Columnist

Well folks let’s think back to being young...
Remember your first public job...
What a shock to your young system...
If it was a public job it was a real shock...
Shock to your system and your nerves...

Adults can be so very demanding...
Some adults have forgotten...
Forgotten what it is like to be young...
Young and inexperienced...
Most are trying to be cool...
Trying to act experienced...

Take the young person working...
Working in a grocery store...
They have never bought groceries...
Never baked a cake...
Never thought about how to shop...
Do not know what is located with what...
You mean soap is not with cereal...
Oh...oh my...
They have so much to learn...

They have to be taught that ice cream
does not go in the same bag with Tide...
Simple things older shoppers know...
Next time you want to strangle a kid
in a first job remember...
Someone helped you learn...

Now there is more to this story...
Every big chain store has an 800 number...
You can look them up on your Iphone...
The phone in your pocket...
Bet you found it to complain...
When someone young or old does it right...
You should call that 800 number and say so...
No matter their age...
Compliments make their job easier...
Companies thank those people...
Usually in front of the other workers...
That is good for all to hear...

Calling that 800 number will help the worker...
But guess what...
It will make the caller feel better too...
Funny how that works...

This is a win win situation...
Everyone gains from that call...
The worker, old or young, feels better...
They work harder to please...
They know that the customers care...

The caller smiles and realizes that they
are better customers...
They realize they are better people...

Try it my friend...
What have you got to lose...
You might learn to enjoy the experience...
