GASTONIA––With President Donald Trump’s re-election an obvious slam-dunk, the commander-in-chief is already taking victory laps.

Such was the occasion on Wednesday at the Gastonia Municipal Airport, when more than 23,000 enthusiastic supporters showed up for yet another of the President’s rock concert-like rallies. In sharp contrast to hapless, enfeebled and doddering opponent Joe Biden––senescent, tired and incapable of generating anything but apathy, embarrassingly unable to fill even a multi-purpose room at a Holiday Inn––the surprisingly youthful and energeticTrump continues to project great strength and compelling charisma and to pack in the crowds at stadiums and other large venues, generating more passionate enthusiasm than any Republican president since Ronald Reagan or maybe even Theodore Roosevelt.

Trump’s message continues to resonate with common, everyday, working-class folks: the primary demographic that swept him to an overwhelming victory in 2016 and the honest, patriotic people who actually make America work. Ironically, said group was once the backbone of the Democrat party. But beginning with George McGovern’s embarrassing, lopsided failure against Richard Nixon in 1972, the year the Dems made an unholy alliance with Hippies, the party’s increasingly out-of-touch and politically tone-deaf leadership has more and more abandoned America’s common folks, espousing objective moral evils and appealing to ever fringier elements, thus making victory mathematically impossible.

Political scientist Dr. Helmut Norpoth has accurately predicted the victor of every presidential race since Nixon in 1968. Norpoth recently said that Trump’s chances of re-election next month are greater than 91 percent. Skewed, fictitious polls that actually pretend to show Biden ahead by multiple points are gathered by means of dubious data (effectively telephonic cheating) no longer taken seriously by anyone save the wishful-thinking and delusional masters of Democrat agitprop. The poll numbers were wildly wrong in ’16, and they clearly are again. The empirical evidence of massive attendance at Trump rallies is an entirely more reliable indicator of an easy victory for Trump and his party.

And the President will have even longer coattails this year. Republicans are expected to handily take back the House and maintain the Senate, and a host of Republican governors is expected to sweep to victory as well. With the disgraced, corrupt and economy-killing Roy Cooper now North Carolina’s most unpopular governor since the American Revolution, lieutenant governor Dan Forest is an easy shoo-in.

Among the local folks attending Wednesday’s rally was noted photographer Bill Ward of Stanley. Ward said Friday that it was an unforgettable experience.

“From the moment the announcement came that Trump would rally in Gastonia, you could feel the enthusiasm all over Gaston County,” he said. “Understanding the massive support for Donald Trump in this general area explains a lot. However, the underlying excitement and optimism for a Trump victory is the real reason that a record number of people showed up to give their raucous support.

“As you approached the airport prior to the rally,” Ward added, “the enthusiasm in the air was so thick and so heavy, you could practically reach out and grab a handful! While there was an overload of the obligatory Trump and MAGA (“Make America Great Again,” one of the President’s rallying cries) paraphernalia and of course the very zealous and the overzealous, the crowd was filled with regular, everyday, hardworking, normal, patriotic American people. Every societal niche was represented at the Gaston Municipal Airport, coming together to push back against the narrative that this president is not supported by a vast array of citizenry.”
