Where Are You?
Written November 17, 2020

Judge Rembert
Guest Columnist

In the year 2020...
Where are you ???...
Where are you going ???...
Where will you end up ???...
Where do you want to be in 2022 ???...

These are deep questions...
The answers are even deeper...
What can you do to answer them ???...
Well now that is another question...
Life is full of questions...
Life is full of answers...
The trick may be to match the two...
Right answer to the right question...

In 2020 the world is so unanswered...
People have no idea where...
Where or how their world will be working...
Will America be stronger...
Will America be falling apart...

Will people be sicker...
Will people be broker...
Will citizens be fighting more...
Will there be more fires...

With all those unanswered questions
dancing around in our heads...
How do people plan their futures ???...
Happy lives need answers....
People, all ages need answers...
Where do the answers come from ???

Well now that is different for each of us...
Our age is often guiding tool...
Young people look at everything with so many...
Many years to work it out...
So many more tomorrows to work with...
Many years to get it right...
Makes today less important...

But the older you get the less days you have...
Less days to get the right answers...
You begin to see the days left clearer...
You want to fill those days with good...
Good family members...
Good friends...
Good laughter...
Good love and memories...

The older you get you think more...
More about peace and satisfaction...
You often slow down and look around...
What seems important at 80 may be
so different than you ever expected...

If 2020 is giving you sadness in your soul...
If the fighting and meanness is...
Is taking over your heart...

Give this a moment in your thoughts...
You are in the world for a reason...
You are not here just to use oxygen...
You are not here to just to be a customer...
You are not here to waste time...
You are here for a reason...
You are here to fulfill the plan...

Get up each morning and smile...
Someday you will figure it out...
Well if you never figure it out...
Well that is OK too...
Maybe you filled out your purpose without...
Without even knowing what it was...

REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT ALONE...
NO ONE ELSE HAS ALL THE ANSWERS...

More About Judge Rembert: WWII made Judge an only child when her half-brother was killed in the war. She lived in a tiny town in South Carolina until she was eight and her Mother went to work. She was sent to a boarding school in Belmont, N.C. From that time on she has lived back and forth in the two Carolinas. They are both home. She was born dyslexic and did not know what the problem was or that it had a name until she was about 45. She was unable to spell so she never put words on paper until she was 65 and had a computer with spell check. She comes from a long line of story tellers and a Mother that taught her much by telling stories. Stories about people and how they faced life and how they dealt with problems. If you read what she writes you may hear her Mother and her Grandmother talking to her. She is thrilled to know that anyone reads her words and finds them interesting. Oh, she is 75 now and she now makes her home in Aiken, S.C. If you like Judge’s writings or would like to comment on them let her know by emailing judgerembert@bellsouth.net.
