Legislative Report from Rep. Jason Saine

Rep. Jason Saine, District 97-Lincoln County

Putting North Carolina Back to Work Act

This past week we passed SB 116 which changes the current requirements that the federal government has put in place in order to receive unemployment benefits.  CLICK HERE to watch a video in which I explain the bill.

Some of the bills we have passed this year of which I am most proud include those that:

✓ Allow fire trucks to use flashing blue lights when stopped (HB 448)

✓ End $50 fee teachers pay for a substitute to cover their classes (HB 362)

Allow certain law enforcement officers to pay for early retirement (HB 417)

🗸 Prevent Governor from mandating COVID-19 vaccine (HB 572)

🗸 Increase penalties for rioting (HB 805)

🗸 Prohibit schools from promoting discriminatory concepts (HB 324)

🗸 Expand access to care for children with autism (SB 103)

🗸 Increase penalties for breaking into police vehicles (HB 761)

🗸 Ensure safety of incarcerated pregnant women (HB 608)

🗸 Increase transparency of prescription drug costs (HB 178)
