The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Safety Awards Banquet Thursday night (March 31st) at the Lincoln Cultural Center. Nearly 100 people attended the event which is co-sponsored by the North Carolina Department of Labor.
Duke Energy's Combustion Turbine Plant received a Twentieth Consecutive Year Safety Award.
Other multi-year award winners included the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation's Lincolnton Conversion, Customizing & Packaging Plant which received an 11th Consecutive Year award; Salem Industries, which received a 7th Consecutive Year award; Gaston College's Lincoln Campus and several county offices including the County Manager's office, Human Resources, Register of Deeds, Tax Office, and Soil & Water Conservation District office, all of whom received 5th year awards.
Million Hour Awards for operating at least a million hours with no lost time accidents were presented to Ethan Allen, RSI Home Products (two million hours), and Cataler-North America (three million hours).
