Mark Ingle says he hopes to have The Meating Place open by the end of the year. It will be a butcher shop with other deli items and another place to eat downtown. There'll be some seats there--or you can get a sandwich to go.

There's a new restaurant in Denver that you may want to try. It's called Halina's and it's located in the same "restaurant row" as Showmar's, Jersay Mike's and Casa Garcia. That's on Highway 73 just past Lowe's and Aldi going east.
If you think $15 is too much for lunch, Halina's is not your kind of place. If you're interested in better quality food and don't mind paying a little more than you might at some places, then Halina's may be just what you'll like.
I've had their fried green tomato BLT (bacon, lettuce and in this case fried green tomatoes), their Reuben, and a salad, and all were very good. I have yet to try their dinner menu, but I've looked it over and it's impressive. Halina's is doing so well they're about to expand. I'll not tell you more just now; we'll be doing another article about them soon. Try them and let us know what you think.

People call us almost every week asking, "where can I get a copy of your paper?" The answer is--you can't! The Lincoln Herald is an online news source--on our own website and we also provide links to our stories via Facebook and Twitter. The problem with printing a paper is that it limits the coverage to daily or weekly editions. Often, news happens after the latest edition has already been sent to the printer. As your online news source, the Lincoln Herald updates news every day--often several times in the day.
Stories that shown at the top of our home page in the morning have usually been replaced by later stories later in the day--although you can still read them under the categories: NEWS, COMMUNITY, SPORTS, RELIGION, etc.
One great way to keep up with all the news we report is our daily email service. It's FREE! It's safe! It's simple. Sign up for this service and we'll send you an email every day with briefs of our articles posted since the previous day. If one interests you, just click on the brief in the email to read it. If not, just delete the email.
We won't sell or share your email address with anyone, so you need not worry about getting a lot of spam emails.
