Press Release

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Leonard Wealth Management is celebrating their 60th year in business. Leonard Wealth Management is a holistic financial planning office located in Lincolnton. The firm is owned and operated by J. Cain Leonard, CEP®, MCEP®.

The firm was established in 1959, by Leonard’s father Joseph “Joe” C. Leonard, as the first stock brokerage firm in Lincoln County. Joe had a 47-year career in the financial industry, retiring in 2006. His son, J. Cain Leonard, joined the firm in 1984.

Over the years the firm has expanded from stock brokerage into offering wide variety of financial services; Financial Planning, Income Tax Reduction Strategies, Wealth Management, Investment Management, Retirement Income, Estate Planning, Long Term Care Insurance, Life Insurance, and Medicare Supplement Insurance. LWM serves hard working Americans in our area, other NC counties, as well as in other states.

In addition to the firm celebrating 60 years in business, Leonard is celebrating his 35th year in the financial services industry.

Embracing the concept of “constant and never-ending improvement”, Leonard is constantly attending workshops for continuing his financial education. Over his career, he has traveled to 19 states. In the past few years, he has attended advanced training in Chicago, Atlanta, Scottsdale, Topeka, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids, and Dallas, Texas.

In 2011, Mr. J. Cain Leonard received the Certified Estate Planner, CEP®, designation. In 2019, he also received the Master Certified Estate Planner, MCEP®, becoming only the 2nd MCEP® currently, in the state of North Carolina.

Several years ago, Mr. Leonard became a fiduciary advisor. Fiduciary is a standard of care that financial advisors are held to. This means that they are ethically and legally obligated to put the best interest of the clients first and disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest.

Leonard says, “It has been an honor to work with multiple generations in the same family. Being able to help people in our area and working in my hometown has been a wonderful experience.” Leonard Wealth Management is a firm on the move. “We are happy to achieve this remarkable 60-year milestone and looking forward to the next 60 years”, Leonard stated enthusiastically.
