LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Lincoln County Manager Kelly Atkins announced today, July 30, 2020, that Ron Rombs has been named as the new Emergency Services Director for Lincoln County effective August 1, 2020. This is a newly structured position which brings all facets of Emergency Services under a single unified department including the Fire Marshall’s Office, Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services.
Rombs brings over 45 years of Fire, Rescue, and EMS experience, with the past twenty years as the Director of Lincoln County Emergency Medical Services and Transportation Lincoln County. He is a combat veteran of the U. S Army and has served in roles as EMS Director, EMS Training Officer, EMS Special Operations Officer, Flight Paramedic, and Operations NCO for Womack Army Medical Center. Throughout his career he has taught thousands of hours of Emergency Services courses to include Firefighter I & II, Technical Rescue, Emergency Vehicle Operations, EMT and Paramedic programs.

Ron resides in western Lincoln County. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking and spending time with his family. “Ron has an extensive background in Emergency Services, he brings the experience and knowledge to be able to provide Lincoln County with a strong foundation in leadership, management and oversight”, says Atkins.
